Started with one student.
Scaled with purpose.
In 2012, our founder Amara was helping her younger brother navigate a German university application from their family home in Accra. The process was opaque, expensive, and riddled with gatekeepers. After six months and three rejected visas from a local agent who pocketed the fee and disappeared, he made it — alone, after Amara spent weeks reverse-engineering the process.
She realised the problem wasn't the universities. It wasn't the students. It was the system of information brokers sitting in between. So she built a better system.
What started as a WhatsApp group of students sharing tips became a structured advisory practice. By 2016 we had placed 200 students. By 2020, 1,000. Today EEC is a team of 40+ advisors, engineers, and university partnerships specialists — fully remote, operating across 18 countries, united by one belief: this process should be simple.
