Your university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number — the key document for your visa application.

Issued: 3 months before course start

Apply Online

Apply at gov.uk for a Student Visa. Fee: £490. Submit financial evidence (£1,334/month for London, £1,023 outside London) alongside your CAS.

Processing: 3 weeks avg.

Biometrics

Visit a UKVCAS service point to submit fingerprints and photo. Available in 60+ countries. Book early — slots fill fast before intake season.

Appointment: 1 hour

Fly & Collect BRP

Collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) within 10 days of arrival. This is your formal permission to study and work.
